Liu Jiangning PhD, China

Dr. Jiangning Liu received his bachelor degree in Applied Chemistry, from Hebei Normal  University of Science & Technology at 2003. Afterward, he completed his PhD in Microbiology in China Agricultural University at 2008. He then joined Institute of Laboratory Animal Science as assistant professor. Recently, he was employed as associate professor by Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He is the Vice Director, Institute of Laboratory Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College

The research of Dr. Jiangning Liu is focus on Animal model and Immunology of Human infectious diseases caused by infection of Enterovirus 71 (EV71). He established the transgenic mouse model for EV71 infection and designed a vaccine candidate consisting truncates of structural proteins of virion. He evaluated the efficiency of a series of drug candidates by animal model. His recent interest is developing Woodchuck hepatitis virus model in China for pathology study and drug evaluation, and study the relationship of suppression on host innate immune and pathogenesis of infectious diseases or allergy diseases. Throughout his research career, he gained experience on techniques of laboratory animal science, molecular biology, virus and immunology. He has published 20 SCI papers and 6 granted patents, and won an ‘young investigator’ award from ICLAS in 2010. Now, he is the secretary general of National Technical Committee for the Standardization of Laboratory Animals.
